Our Hospital Policies

At The Animal Hospital of Kentwood, our goal is to provide exceptional care in a respectful, safe, and efficient environment - for pets, their people and our team. To ensure smooth visits and high-quality service, we have outlined a few important policies we kindly ask all clients to review. These guidelines help us stay organized, minimize stress for pets, and maintain the highest standards of veterinary care.

Appointments and Scheduling

We operate by appointment to ensure each pet receives the time and attention they deserve. Walk-ins are not guaranteed and may experience long wait times or be referred elsewhere. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early and let us know if you are running late - appointments more than 10 minutes late may need to be rescheduled.

Late Arrivals & No-Shows

We understand that life happens, but multiple no-shows or last-minute cancellations limit our teams ability to help other pets in need. After 3 consecutively missed appointments without notice, a valid credit card must be placed on file prior to scheduling. Please provide at least 12-24 hour notice if you are unable to make an appointment.

Prescriptions

We are happy to fill prescriptions through our in-house pharmacy. Please allow 24 hours from the time the request was made for us to prepare for pick up.
We will notify you when it is ready.
We must have a valid Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) in order to fill any medication. No exceptions.

We do not partner or work with any online pharmacy directly. 
We are able to send you home with a written prescription to be taken to the pharmacy of your preference.

Respectful Communication & Conduct

We're here because we care deeply about animals - and the people who love them. We ask all clients to treat our staff with the same kindness and professionalism you expect in return. Disrespectful, aggressive, or abusive behavior (verbal or physical) will not be tolerated and may result in termination of the client relationship.
We're proud of the compassionate, hardworking team at the Animal Hospital of Kentwood, and we're committed to fostering a safe, respectful environment for everyone who walks through our doors - on two legs or four.

Pet Behavior & Safety

All dogs must be on a leash or cats in a secure carrier upon entering the hospital.
If your pet is reactive, anxious, or aggressive in new environments, please inform us when scheduling - we may suggest alternative accommodations. 

Payment & Estimates

  • Payment is due at the time services are rendered. We accept cash, credit/debit cards, and CareCredit

  • Upon request, our team will provide a itemized estimate before any procedure.

  • If you have budget concerns, let us know - we're happy to discuss treatment options.
    • All ill pets hospitalized with us will be given a written estimate of charges, if requested.  50% of payment is expected before treatment begins, with the balance due when the pet is discharged.
